In 1947, Air France operated an inaugural flight to Fort de France by Latécoère. 30 hours and a stopover in Port Gentil were needed before arriving in Martinique. 65 years later, Air France operates 26 weekly flights by Boeing 777-300ER to Pointe à Pitre and Fort de France from Paris-Orly and 2 weekly flights from Paris-CDG. Air France’s first commercial flight to New Caledonia lasted 6 days
