Air France, in close cooperation with ShareGroop, now offers its customers the group payment solution. This start-up was founded in 2015 by Franck Burguière. At the time, its founder was facing a dilemma - he had to buy plane tickets for a group of people wanting to travel on the same flight and advance a considerable amount of money. “This is how the idea of an online group purchase solution came about!” explains Franck Burguière.
July has marked the beginning of ShareGroop’s roll-out at Air France. From now on, groups of at least 10 people have access to a payment solution adapted to their use. By choosing ShareGroop as the payment method, the person making the reservation no longer has to advance money for their fellow travellers’ tickets and ask for refunds. Each customers can now pay for their ticket online and thus benefit from insurance through their bankcard.
Open innovation – a response to Air France customers’ expectations
Open innovation – or innovation based on sharing and cooperation – plays an important part for Air France, which was present at the VivaTech trade show in Paris in June. For the occasion, Jean-Marc Janaillac, Chairman of Air France, said that the company’s vision was to “roll out technologies for the benefit of everyone”, a priority it has been committed to for several years and perfectly reflected by this solution.
The company works with numerous start-ups (Lineberty, Interactive Mobility, Never Eat Alone, etc.) to adapt to the market context and continue to propose new offers for its customers.
