Tarom signs an Agreement with SkyTeam To Join The Alliance as Associate Airline
SkyTeam, the global airline alliance, today signed a SkyTeam Alliance Associate Adherence Agreement (SAAAA) agreement with the Romanian airline TAROM, indicating the airline is on the track to join the alliance as an Associate airline. As part of the process, TAROM must meet a set of predetermined requirements, in areas such as operations, technologies and products, in order to ensure that its quality of service standards and operating performance are in line with those of SkyTeam member airlines.

Air France takes Delivery of its 50th Boeing 777
On 30 April 2008, Air France’s 50th Boeing 777 joined the fleet. The aircraft, a 777-300ER registered F-GZNB, landed at Paris-Charles de Gaulle at 10:00, after taking off from Everett airport near Seattle the day before, which is the site of Boeing’s assembly line.
On May 2nd, this Boeing 777 made its first commercial flight: flight AF 256 left Paris-Charles de Gaulle at 11:15 PM and reached Singapore the day after at 17:45 local time.

AIR FRANCE KLM is pleased to hear of the Announced Merger of Delta and Northwest
This merger further strengthens the coherence of AIR FRANCE KLM partnerships on the transatlantic market.
Thanks to anti-trust immunity proposed last week by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), AIR FRANCE KLM is confident it can quickly build a global partnership between Delta, Northwest, KLM and Air France in the form of a joint venture offering a network with extremely attractive multiple hubs.

Anti-trust Immunity: Air France and KLM welcome DOT's preliminary decision
In its Show Cause Order (1) published on April 9 2008, the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) proposes to grant the application by six SkyTeam airlines for anti-trust immunity (ATI) on transatlantic routes. Air France, Delta Air Lines, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Northwest, Alitalia and Czech Airlines had filed a joint application with the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) on June 28, 2007.
