On Tuesday 10 October 2017, flight AF112 from Paris-Charles de Gaulle to Shanghai welcomed a different kind of passenger: chef Zhao Guangyou. The “master of Chinese imperial cuisine” met passengers in the Business cabin who were able to discover a selection of Zhao’s signature dishes including KongPao shrimp.
One of the lucky customers also won the golden ticket slipped on to their meal tray, with a dinner invitation to the chef’s restaurant in Beijing, the JE Mansion.
“Oh my Chef!” is a high-flying gourmet experience, where the company regularly invites a chef on board one of its flights to serve his or her menu, meet passengers and hear their impressions.
From 1st July 2017 to June 2018, chef Zhao’s dishes can be enjoyed in Business class on Air France flights to Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai and Wuhan in China as well as Singapore.
Zhao: portrait of a master of Chinese imperial cuisine
As Executive Chef of the restaurant JE Mansion, member of Relais & Château, Zhao Guangyou has inherited the culinary excellence of Mr. Wang Xifu, a descendant of traditional Chinese imperial cuisine.
Imperial cuisine contains many precious ingredients and requires specific cooking and preparation, with carefully selected ingredients, complex preparation and elegant presentation. Each dish is an exquisite culinary journey.
