As from 13 May 2013, Air France services to Pointe à Pitre (Guadeloupe) and Fort de France (Martinique) will only operate from Paris-Orly. Air France will operate 14 weekly services to each destination, during peak travel periods, by Boeing 777-300ER with more than 450 seats.
The flights operated from Paris-Charles de Gaulle to Pointe à Pitre and Fort de France will be transferred to Paris-Orly airport After over a year and a half of operation, an adapted offer and promotional support of Guadeloupe and Martinique in Europe, the economic results of services from Paris-CDG to the French West Indies does not enable Air France to continue serving these destinations from Paris-CDG airport.
Air France will continue to promote European tourism in the Caribbean, notably from its base at Paris-Orly, which offers connecting opportunities between Europe (London, Milan, Bale Mulhouse, Madrid), Fort de France and Pointe à Pitre.
This comes within the framework of Air France-KLM's plan to restore profitability.
