Air France has been present in Canada for more than sixty years. On 2 October 1950, 415 years to the day after Jacques Cartier discovered Montreal, Air France launched its Paris - Montreal - New York route by Lockheed Constellation 749, with 2 technical stopovers in Shannon and Gander.
