At Paris-Charles de Gaulle, Air France operates the most powerful hub in Europe in terms of connections and offers over 25,000 connecting opportunities between long-haul and medium-haul flights, and vice-versa, in less than two hours. Thanks to this major asset, Air France has been able to implement a profitable growth strategy based on connecting traffic.
At Paris-Charles de Gaulle, Air France’s flight schedule is organized around 6 timespans, i.e. six waves of arrivals and departures, spread out over the day to give rise to a maximum number of connections in the shortest possible time.
Contrary to other European hubs, Paris-Charles de Gaulle has strong development potential. One of the major assets of this hub is that it has room for growth and can expand to anticipate future changes. In 2012, terminal 2 at Paris-Charles de Gaulle will be equipped with a new satellite, offering additional 16 parking stands in the long term.

A “hubway” is 12 daily flights leaving at regular intervals, linking the two hubs at Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Amsterdam-Schiphol.
In this way, the Air France and KLM network offers 254 destinations. The Air France and KLM networks are complementary to efficiently link Europe to the rest of the world. The number of joint Air France and KLM destinations is limited: 70% of long-haul routes and 60% of medium-haul routes are served only by one or the other airline.
Air France also draws customers with air/rail connections thanks to the location of the Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport station in its hub. This station is served by the high-speed TGV service to Brussels as well as the urban express network (RER).A partnership has been signed between Air France and SNCF (French railways) enabling both companies to offer direct air/rail connections between Paris-CDG and the following cities: Angers, Le Mans, Lille Europe, Lyon-Part-Dieu, Nantes, Poitiers, Tours-Saint-Pierre-des-Corps.
