As part of our policy of transparent communication with all stakeholders and our customers – whether passengers or shippers - Air France has implemented a CO2 Calculator to help you calculate the CO2 emissions generated by your trip or by the carriage of your freight to all the destinations served by the fleet of Air France, KLM and their regional partners. This figure reflects the actual performance of our operations to each destination.
These results are the best of the industry average for air transport. They are in fact the result of a very determined policy conducted by Air France - KLM :
constant investments to renew our fleet and to offer the world’s most technically advanced aircraft,
high load factors, efficiency of the hub system.
constant search for the best environmental efficiency in adapting our ground and inflight procedures.
The calculator contains flights operated by Air France, KLM, their regional partners (BritAir, CityJet, Régional, Airliner, CCM Airlines or KLM CityHopper) and Transavia.com France.
Compensation
Air France is working with the Good Planet Association and its Carbon Action Program to offer customers who so wish the possibility of offsetting the CO2 emissions generated by their trip.
Two carbon offset projects have already been put forward:
- the production of compost for farming from from household waste in Mahajanga, Madagascar;
- the wide-scale installation of biogas tanks in Weining in China.
