Paris-San Francisco-Paris, two Air France flights flying the rainbow flag

Published on - April 10th, 2019

As part of its commitment for diversity and inclusion and to celebrate Gay Pride in San Francisco and the LGBT Pride March in Paris, Air France will operate two special LGBT friendly flights: flight AF084 on June 28, 2019 from Paris-Charles de Gaulle to San Francisco and flight AF083 on June 30th, 2019 from San Francisco to Paris-Charles de Gaulle. Both these flights will be operated by a crew committed to this cause.

On board, a charity sale of items will take place in aid of the association “Le Refuge”, whose role is to support and provide accommodation for the young gay, lesbian and transgender population living in precarious conditions; an operation carried out in partnership with Air France and the Air France Foundation.

Along with this initiative led by staff and supported by the company, Air France also supports the LGBT and gay-friendly association of Air France employees, Personn'Ailes, in its activities, particularly at the LGBT Pride March in Paris.

The French association “Le Refuge” is a structure approved by the French State, which offers temporary accommodation and social, medical, psychological and legal support to young victims of homophobia or transphobia. To find out more, go to https://www.le-refuge.org. The Air France Foundation, set up in 1992, supports the cause of children and young people in need, a subject close to the hearts of company staff. For over twenty-five years, it has chosen and financed projects for young people in difficulty in the countries where Air France operates. It is within the framework of these projects that the Air France Foundation is supporting this charity sale.

A commitment to support diversity

Air France, aware of its social and societal responsibility, affirms its commitment to ensuring that only skills matter in the workplace: fighting all forms of discrimination is essential to progress and to promote equality, respect and tolerance. This is why Air France is committed to preventing discrimination based on gender or sexual orientation and to promoting an inclusive working environment in which all employees can be themselves.
