Air France and Reunion Island have enjoyed 70 years of close ties marked by the Company’s presence in the Indian Ocean.
In 1945, Air France launched its first commercial service with one weekly flight by Lockheed 60. The trip from Paris to Saint Denis La Reunion then took about 5 days and had 14 stopovers! In 1972, the Boeing 747 took over, then in 2007 the Boeing 777, which operated services to Roland Garros Airport up to 11 times a week, in just 10 hours 45 minutes! By serving Reunion Island, Mauritius and Madagascar, Air France offers a wide range of frequencies, illustrating its desire to maintain the relationship between Metropolitan France and the Indian Ocean. An opportunity for our customers to benefit from Air France’s expertise, and an opportunity to celebrate 70 years of friendship between France and Reunion Island.
