Concrete and immediate measures for all staff

Published on - June 14th, 2018

Anne-Marie Couderc, non-executive Chairperson of Air France and Air France-KLM, and Franck Terner, CEO of Air France, this morning presented concrete measures to the Air France Central Works Council, approved by the Board of Directors, in order to respond to the concerns expressed by employees during the staff consultation.

These measures will be implemented immediately and are structured around two main priorities:

Immediate measures to improve the daily lives of staff. Management has decided to provide an exceptional budget this summer and wants to take rapid action to provide concrete solutions to problems that affect the daily lives of staff to enable them to provide optimum service for customers in the best possible conditions. Among the first measures to be implemented is the renovation of ramp facilities at Orly and an increase in the availability of rest areas for aircrew at Air France premises.

A new approach to staff concerns and dialogue, to provide concrete solutions to staff expectations. This approach will involve all staff, who will be able to express their dissatisfaction as well as their convictions and proposals on all subjects related to the company's operations. The implementation of these measures will involve management, staff representatives and volunteer staff as well as stakeholders from outside the company.

The Air France-KLM Board of Directors also confirmed that there was no mandate for new pay negotiations in the present circumstances pending a new governance structure.

Finally, Air France management is calling on the inter-union association to lift its strike notice from 23 to 26 June, which would worsen the company's situation and have a major impact on our customers on the eve of the busy summer period.
