In 2000, Air France, Aeromexico, Delta and Korean Air created the SkyTeam alliance, which now has 19 members.
As the world's second-largest airline alliance, SkyTeam enables its member airlines, including Air France, to develop and supplement their respective offerings with flights operated by their partners.

The SkyTeam airline alliance aims to provide a comprehensive offering in passenger and freight traffic and enrich the services of its member airlines, without the need for additional investment in their fleets.
Specifically, it provides these airlines' passengers with the ability to travel on flights operated by multiple airlines, accumulate air miles from different airlines and enjoy over 630 lounges in airports the world over.
What's more, specific products are developed and marketed within the alliance, such as "Pass", which allows passengers to travel in the destination region at competitive rates, and the global contracts for large companies.
With the integration of Xiamen Airlines in 2012, SkyTeam has consolidated its position as the number one airline alliance in Greater China, with 142 destinations served in the region.
A transatlantic joint venture with Delta and Alitalia
The transatlantic joint venture set up by Air France-KLM, Delta and Alitalia involves the joint operation and the sharing of revenues and costs of over 250 daily transatlantic flights connecting the nine hubs run by the four airlines.
To date, it accounts for nearly 25% of the total capacity between Europe and North America.

Founded in 2009 together with Delta, the joint venture was expanded to Alitalia the following year. It covers all flights between North America, Mexico and Europe via an integrated collaboration.
Under a closely collaborative process, all flights between North America and Mexico to and from the Mediterranean basin, Africa, Gulf countries and India, as well as flights from Europe to and from Central America, Columbia, Venezuela, Peru and Ecuador, are also covered.
Passengers of the four airlines receive a number of benefits, including a broader choice of destinations and frequency of flights, competitive rates, harmonised services on the ground and in the air, and dedicated booking centres on both sides of the Atlantic.
The joint venture set up by Air France-KLM, Delta and Alitalia is contractual. It involves a partnership and therefore the sharing of tasks, costs and revenues, with no capital contribution.
