TRANSPORT ALTERNATIVES FOR SHORT DISTANCE JOURNEYS

Favouring low-carbon alternatives on shorter journeys, and more energy-efficient flights on longer journeys, helps to minimise the overall carbon footprint of your trip.

For short distance journeys, low carbon transport alternatives exist. Favouring these low-carbon alternatives on shorter journeys, and more energy-efficient flights (new generation aircraft, sustainable aviation fuels) on longer journeys, makes it possible to minimise the overall carbon footprint of one's journey. Therefore, we believe that combining train and air travel is an obvious choice.

COMBINING DIFFERENT MODES OF TRANSPORT

Wherever possible, we offer our customers the possibility of combining different modes of transport. We call this intermodality. For over 25 years, Air France has been offering its customers a service that allows them to combine train and air travel in the same reservation, with guaranteed connections. This offer, called "Train + Air" in partnership with the SNCF, is used every year by more than 160,000 customers travelling to and from Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Paris-Orly airports.

We have been offering this service at 18 stations in France, such as Angers, Le Mans, Avignon, Valence-Orly or Aix-en-Provence-Roissy since 2021.

Regularly adding new services to our Train + Air offer allows us to continue developing a combined offer, a key element in meeting our environmental commitments, while offering travel opportunities from the French regions to the rest of the world.
