Promoting the education and social integration of disadvantaged kids in Mayotte.

For 155 years, the Fondation Apprentis d'Auteuil has been working with young people from disadvantaged families who are experiencing difficulties. Its aim is to welcome, educate, train and integrate young people from all geographical, social, cultural and religious backgrounds. Its mission is also to support parents, who are often powerless, in their role as educators. In Mayotte, between 5,000 and 10,000 children do not attend school due to a lack of places. The M'SAYIDIE project is a pathway to school for kids aged between 8 and 18, offering them a refresher course in basic skills, personalised support for their mental and physical health and socio-educational activities that include sustainable development issues. Providing care for young people also helps them to get to know the local area. An additional site has been created in 2023 thanks to the support of the Air France Foundation in Petite Terre, in the priority neighbourhoods, enabling 300 young people and 65 parents to be welcomed each year in the 2 centres. This year, the Foundation will contribute to 40 workshops (socio-professional, educational outings, neighbourhood workshops with families) for almost 200 children.
