Support for the development of the school in Ambodigoavy: construction of a new school building with latrines and development of an environmental education programme.

Helpsimus is committed to protecting theGreaterbamboo lemur, thanks to is “Bamboo Lemur” programme, combining scientific study of the species, protection of its habitat, supporting the development of local villages and financing children’s education. In Madagascar, 90% of the population lives below the extreme poverty line. Education is an essential way to make change and contribute to sustainable development. The aim of the project is to improve the infrastructure of the school in Ambodigoavy by constructing a new building equipped with sanitary facilities. The aim is also to create an annex to the school in the village of Vohimarina so that around thirty children aged between 3 and 5 no longer have to walk long distances and cross a river to attend school. The programme will be developed through the design of educational tools focusing on local flora and fauna. This project will continue to improve school results and the number of primary school-leavers is rising steadily, thanks in particular to the support of the Air France Foundation.
