Electrification of a new home for street kids.
MAREM stands for Mouvement d'Action pour la Réinsertion des Enfants Marginalisés. Its mission is to promote inclusive education and the social reintegration of street children, in particular by giving them access to places to live.
In Lomé, a large number of children and young people live on the streets. They are exposed to violations of their fundamental rights. MAREM's acquisition of a new plot of land has made it possible to start building a new home that is more up to standard, thereby increasing the capacity of the current premises. The aim of the current project is to complete the final phase of the work, which will see the new centre fully electrified using an ecological and sustainable solar energy system. This will improve the conditions in which the children are cared for and strengthen the NGO's capacity for action.
