Kuabo Garage-School: Helping young people to integrate through mechanics and car recycling in Cotonou.

The garage-school carries out car repair and recycling activities. It opened its doors in February 2024 to its first class of 16 apprentices. Its aim is to help 100 young people with little or no education into employment over 3 years. These young people, referred by the ANPE Benin or local associations, receive training in basic skills, electromechanics, as well as accounting and business management. They put this learning into practice on a daily basis. Internships in other garages enable them to discover what is available on the market before looking for a job. The Air France Foundation is helping to support the association's needs in terms of theoretical training, with the purchase of around twenty computers including specific software, and practical training, with the purchase of personal protective equipment. Benin is one of the 5 biggest importers of second-hand vehicles in Africa and aims to be a pioneer in the eco-environmental end-of-life vehicle sector.
