Théâtre de l'Entonnoir

Creating a travelling theatre.

For the past 22 years, the association has been striving to use art as a tool for emancipation by organizing shows and creative workshops for children during and outside school in the town of Kourou. The charity works to promote cultural mediation and artistic creation with disadvantaged groups. It runs art and writing workshops, offers literacy courses, puts on shows, helps children who have dropped out of school and organizes exchanges with artists.

The town of Kourou does not have a theatre. To date, the association has staged its shows in gymnasiums, courtyards, in front of blocks of flats and in classrooms. With the support of the Air France Foundation, the association would like to invest in a “travelling” theatre complete with scenery and props (sound, lighting and seats) for purposes of performing in different venues. The equipment acquired will be used to equip their future theatre.
