On Friday, March 20th, Air France’s aircraft maintenance platforms at Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Paris-Orly welcomed visitors for an exceptional day dedicated to discovery, as part of the national initiative to promote industry launched by Arts & Métiers Alumni. This “Open Factory Day” event aimed to showcase the wide range of professions across Air France’s aircraft maintenance division, as well as the career opportunities available within the airline’s teams, a unique occasion to inspire new talent to join a rapidly growing sector.

Engaging with Aerospace Industry Professionals

Nearly 50 participants including students, university students, and job seekers had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the heart of Air France’s operations. Guided tours, led by the airline’s maintenance experts, provided a deeper understanding of the teams’ technical expertise and offered valuable insights into the company’s activities, highlighting the diversity of professions, technical expertise, and state-of-the-art industrial facilities. The day was also marked by the visit of Félix Meysen, Deputy Prefect of the Val d’Oise department (in the greater Paris area) for economic affairs, who commended the initiative during his discussions with staff at the Roissy aerostructure facility.

A Q&A session, hosted by the Human Resources teams from Air France’s Industrial General Management and its partner AFMAÉ (the Association for Training in Aviation Trades), gave participants a detailed overview of the wide array of professions and career paths available. The session emphasized the various training opportunities, from vocational certificates and professional baccalaureates to post-secondary education, as well as pathways for job seekers and those looking to change fields.

Exciting Career Opportunities

Air France’s “Open Factory Day” delivered on several fronts: guiding future professionals towards careers in aircraft maintenance, inspiring new vocations, and strengthening the airline’s social and societal commitments - all while highlighting the company’s hiring needs and the promising career prospects throughout the organization.

Air France’s aircraft maintenance division is actively expanding and expects to recruit over 450 new team members this year. Positions are available for apprenticeships and permanent contracts, primarily for aircraft mechanics, technicians, and engineers.
