Promote Environmental Education for children and young people in India

Terre des Hommes has been active internationally in collaboration with 60 local partner organisations for 60 years. The current project, supported by the Air France Foundation since 2006, aims to develop understanding of the environment and encourage children and young people to make responsible decisions to reduce their own vulnerability in the face of climate change. Thanks to local partnerships, children’s groups are coordinated under the guidance of a “Youth Platform” and have begun planting more than 2,000 trees in the communities to combat deforestation and climate change. Organic vegetable gardens are also set up in rural areas. The project guarantees over 2,700 children and young people access to education and information about their rights, including environmental rights.
