Precisions from Air France - Airline Ticket Solidarity Tax
The Finance Bill for 2025 presented last October by the departing French government, which included a significant increase in the Airline Ticket Solidarity Tax (TSBA), was not adopted by Parliament.
As a result, Air France has decided to suspend the advance collection introduced on 24 October 2024, which applied to tickets issued for departures from 1 January 2025, following the scale submitted to Parliament in the PLF 2025.
This suspension will take effect from 7 December 2024. Tickets issued from this date will therefore be subject to the TSBA scale in force in 2024, until further notice.
Adjustments to tickets already issued
Air France made a commitment to “make adjustments to ensure that the amount collected is equal to the amount actually due in respect of the TSBA, in the event of a change to the scale, or if the amendment was abandoned or rejected.
This commitment will be honoured.
As a result, customers in possession of a ticket purchased between 24 October and 6 December 2024 will be refunded the difference between the amount collected at the time of their booking and the amount of the 2024 TSBA scale.
Practical details:
- For customers having booked directly with Air France, requests can be made from 12 December 2024 on the airfrance.com website.
- Customers who booked through a travel agency or tour operator are invited to contact their point of sale. Technical details will be provided to travel operators as soon as possible through the usual channels.
Refunds will be prioritised according to the customer's departure date.”
