Combat the digital divide for 100 underprivileged young people in Loire-Atlantique
The Break Poverty Foundation is active in three areas: support during early childhood, preventing early school leaving and access to initial employment. One of its main focuses is combating digital exclusion, which is the main cause of early school leaving.
It has created the Connected Success programme, which aims to support thousands of primary, middle and secondary school pupils and apprentices who are underprivileged, early school leavers or at risk of leaving school early and who have little or no access to computer equipment. They are identified by various partners, including education authorities, local missions and Aide Sociale à l’Enfance.
With the Air France Foundation’s support since 2020, 100 underprivileged young people benefit from the programme in Loire-Atlantique, receiving a computer, an internet connection and support adapted to their needs. They are also offered mentorship, as well as workshops providing support in using digital tools. The mentorship is based on a broad educational approach and strengthens motivation, self-confidence and the ability to look ahead to the future.
