Promoting the education and social integration of disadvantaged minors in Mayotte.
For 155 years, the Apprentis d’Auteuil Foundation has been helping vulnerable young people and their families facing difficult situations. Its aim is to welcome, educate, train and integrate young people from all geographical, social, cultural and religious backgrounds, and to support parents in their role as educators. In Mayotte, over 5,000 minors do not attend school due to a lack of places. The M-SAYIDIE project is a way back to school for out-of-school minors aged between 8 and 18, in extremely precarious situations. The reception centre provides refresher courses in basic skills, personalized support (psychological counselling, healthcare, etc.), and socio-educational and sustainable development activities (citizenship and environmental protection). The Air France Foundation is helping to launch a new centre by financing the educational and socio-educational workshops, furniture and school equipment.
