As a founding member of the JEREMY association, Air France is taking concrete action to promote equal opportunities and help young people from the Roissy and Orly areas enter the job market. As part of the 4th edition of the “Immersion Before Takeoff” program, Air France has welcomed 29 young people for an immersive experience at the heart of the aviation industry.
Immersion Before Takeoff!
On April 22, Air France took part in the 4th edition of the JEREMY association’s “Immersion Before Takeoff” program, an initiative specifically designed to rebuild connections between young people who are far from employment and the business world.
“We are delighted to contribute to this initiative, which goes far beyond a simple job search. The aim is to support these young people, build their confidence, introduce them to workplace codes and standards, and allow them to envision a lasting future in the professional world.”
Aurélien Gomez,
Director of Parliamentary and Regional Affairs at Air France-KLM,
President of the JEREMY association
As part of this initiative, Air France helps integrate young people aged 16 to 25 into a professional environment so they can become aware of their potential and their ability to take charge of their own path. And this immersive program goes even further. Over several weeks, participants undergo a comprehensive experience built around:
Company visits
Meetings with professionals
Experience-sharing with vocational training trainees
Practical workshops and role-playing exercises
Development of a personalized career plan
At the end of this immersion, a personalized action plan is co-developed with each participant, based on their profile and career goals.
Young people wishing to pursue careers in aviation are invited to take the tests and the interview that may allow them to join one of the training programs offered directly by the JEREMY association and access employment opportunities.
The “Immersion Before Takeoff” pathway reflects a strong commitment to reaffirming JEREMY’s mission of professional integration, in addition to its role in vocational training. The challenge is to make this combination a genuine educational asset.
JEREMY: a Key Player in Professional Integration
Created in 1998 at the initiative of Air France, JEREMY has been acting for more than 25 years as a bridge between job seekers and companies in the aviation and airport sectors. The association works to promote the integration of young people and, more broadly, job seekers in the Île-de-France region around Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Paris-Orly airports, by offering training in around ten operational professions in the airport sector.
The training center is built on a pragmatic approach: training, supporting, and connecting young people directly with the professional world.
Strongly committed to professional integration in Île-de-France employment area, JEREMY benefits from the support of numerous employment partners: France Travail, Grand Orly Seine Bièvre, the Île-de-France Region, the Seine-Saint-Denis Departmental Council, and the Île-de-France network of local employment missions.
The training programs offered by JEREMY are free of charge for trainees and are funded in particular by the Île-de-France Regional Council, the European Social Fund, AKTO, and France Travail. During their training, vocational training beneficiaries receive financial compensation.
Since its creation, JEREMY has supported more than 14,500 beneficiaries (an average of 520 trainees per year), with an employment integration rate of 77% across all training programs combined.
JEREMY therefore plays a crucial role for many young people and job seekers by creating opportunities and opening up real prospects for the future.
