On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Air France reaffirmed its commitment to gender diversity and equal opportunities in the workplace. On Sunday, March 8, 2026, the airline accompanied the French delegation, led by the Ministry for Gender Equality, to the 68th session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW), held in New York. This delegation also included representatives from various backgrounds who will represent France throughout this major international event, including the media outlet The Women Voices.

This international gathering brings together key players in gender equality and women’s empowerment each year to advance their rights worldwide.

A Meaningful Partnership

As part of accompanying the delegation to attend the CSW, Air France operated a special flight with a crew composed primarily of women, including two pilots. On board were prominent figures such as Aurore Bergé, Minister Delegate for Gender Equality, and Cynthia Illouz, founder of The Women Voices, illustrating Air France's commitment to women's leadership. Created in 2019, The Women Voices is a media platform dedicated to amplifying women's perspectives, promoting equality, and encouraging female leadership. This symbolic flight also served as a reminder of Air France's commitment to actively supporting and guiding women in their career paths.

    Air France: A Concrete Commitment on the Ground

    From March 9 to 19, 2026, the UN Commission on the Status of Women will focus on access to justice for all women and girls, as well as women's full and effective participation in public decision-making and the eradication of all forms of violence. Air France is taking concrete action on these issues, supporting CSW organizations and through initiatives such as StOpE, which combats everyday sexism in the workplace, and the One In Three Women network, which is involved in the fight against domestic violence. These actions are part of Air France’s long held commitments to creating a respectful, inclusive, and safe work environment for everyone.

    A Proactive Policy for Diversity and Gender Equality

    Air France's policy on diversity and gender equality is based on four main pillars:

    • Diversity in professions and increased women’s representation in technical and operational roles;

    • Promotion of women to positions of responsibility;

    • Combating sexism and sexual harassment;

    • Parenting support

    Partnerships with the "Elles Bougent" association and the Cordée de la réussite program, conducted with Air France's IT Department, encourage young women to pursue careers in science and technology, thereby contributing to the feminization of aviation professions.

    These actions are now yielding tangible results, with a growing female presence in aircraft maintenance, where women now account for 17.5% of these careers at Air France. Furthermore, the proportion of women in managerial roles at the airline continues to increase, reaching 34.6% in 2025.

    Air France, a partner in gender diversity and a driver of change

    Because gender diversity, professional equality, and diversity are essential levers for performance and social progress, Air France actively promotes these values, in line with the objectives of the CSW and The Women Voices. Aware of the progress made but also of the challenges ahead, the company is committed to a process of continuous improvement to advance women's rights, both within the company and in society.
