As the largest private employer in the Île-de-France region, Air France currently has over 44,000 employees and stands out as a company committed to supporting career paths and encouraging the professional development of its people.

Thanks to a dynamic policy of internal mobility and training, and by adopting innovative and inclusive recruitment methods, the airline welcomes talent from a wide range of backgrounds, offering everyone the opportunity to thrive in a variety of professions and to access real opportunities for development and career fulfillment.

Support and Mobility: The Pillars of a Fulfilling Career

With an average length of service of 21 years and more than 1,500 internal career moves each year, Air France teams demonstrate deep loyalty to the company, supported by rich and varied career paths throughout their professional journey.

Because Air France strives to offer everyone the chance to shape their own career path in line with both the company’s needs and their personal aspirations, the airline’s career development and support policies are based notably on internal mobility and the recruitment of diverse profiles. Air France also relies on new recruitment approaches, encouraging the integration of both experienced talent and professionals seeking career changes to further enrich its teams.

Diverse Backgrounds: An Innovative Approach to Recruitment

Among its various recruitment solutions, Air France notably uses the “Simulation Recruitment Method”, developed in partnership with France Travail, France’s public employment service that helps job seekers find work and supports employers with recruitment.

This method assesses candidates’ skills and interpersonal abilities in real-life situations, without requiring a CV or formal qualifications. It enables the identification and discovery of motivated talent with unique backgrounds and remarkable journeys, often as part of a career change.

This innovative approach is particularly relevant to aircraft maintenance roles, where Air France recruits professionals from other industries—such as the automotive sector—and offers them retraining opportunities.

This inclusive and innovative approach has led to the hiring of over a hundred candidates.

An Ambitious Recruitment Policy

In 2025, Air France welcomed more than 2,500 new employees, including over 500 in aircraft maintenance. This year, the company plans to continue this momentum, with more than 1,000 new hires expected in the field by 2027.

In 2026, Air France anticipates more than 1,500 total recruitments, including 900 permanent contracts (CDIs), notably among aircraft mechanics, technicians and engineers, as well as cabin crew, pilots, and IT professionals.
