Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque offers a chance of a normal life to children with heart defects, by enabling them to be operated on in several European towns when their country does not have the necessary financial or technical resources. More than 5,000 children have benefited from this initiative since 1996. Transporting these children to the treatment centres is a major logistical challenge, which has been successfully met thanks to an essential partnership with the Air France Foundation. For over 20 years, the Foundation has used Air France's expertise to provide humanitarian air tickets every year, ensuring that the children have a safe and comfortable journey. This collaboration also makes it possible to deal with unforeseen circumstances, guaranteeing continuity of care and a better future for these young patients.

Pédiatres du Monde is an international solidarity organisation specialising in paediatrics. Its volunteer members are health professionals who put their skills at the service of the health of mothers and children in precarious situations.

The association favours long-term programmes focused on training and empowering local professionals, covering day-to-day care, medical training, improving care environments and family health education. Specific programmes target issues such as disability, diabetes and deafness.

The ethos of Pédiatres du Monde is based on listening and co-construction with local partners, respecting their priorities and complying with national health policies.

The missions, which are short but repeated over several years, are carried out by teams of 3 to 10 people in seven countries, as well as in France, working with migrant and vulnerable populations.

The partnership with the Air France Foundation helps to reduce the volunteers' mission costs by providing transport.
